My School Placement!!!

Yes folks, the results are in. For the next year of my life I will be living in Oita City and teaching at two high schools, Uenogaoka High School and Midorigaoka High School. According to my supervisor, Uenogaoka has approximately 1000 students and is the highest-level academic high school in the prefecture. Midorigaoka is an
art and music school and very small with only 240 students. The majority of the students are girls (perhaps not the worst placement possible). My supervisor describes them as "very talented and generally very cheerful."

So with only little disappointment, I will be in a city. However, the hot springs of Beppu are insanely close and I don't have to buy a car!!!! Anybody wanting to come over, it jsut became a lot easier. There is actually an airport in Oita City and it is a city, meaning plent of recreational activities!!!

If I don't see any of you before my departure on the 29th, sayonara!

P.S. My supervisor also wrote to tell me that I will have an apartment the size of a rather spacious shoebox.
